Future Projects
Our aim is to create 30 Hosford Community Homes in the next three years
We are currently seeking funding to develop another East Belfast Mission property, located at 335 Newtownards Road, into two apartments with a social impact space on the ground floor. This project is part of the larger Hosford Community Homes initiative, aimed at providing sustainable housing solutions and fostering community engagement in East Belfast. Through this development, we hope to address the pressing needs of those facing housing insecurity while creating a space for meaningful community interaction and support. We currently have 75% of the capital funding in place from the Neighbourhood Regeneration Fund.
We are also in conversations with potential partners and funders for future projects
•We are working on a business case for a government loan to buy 18 houses to resettle people in housing need.
• We meet regularly with MLAs and councillors to advocate for an increase in truly affordable housing.
• We are working in partnership with the Northern Ireland Housing Executive and Department for Communities who give us advice and support.
• We meet with others in the sector to share learning and best practice models to help us all tackle homelessness together.
